Here's the roundup of how we used this week's share- still have a little lettuce left, but we'll manage to eat it one way or another.
- 1 1/2 quarts lovely ripe strawberries- consumed in a variety of ways. Some were just eaten out of hand; Jason and I enjoyed some strawberry shortcake one night after Ryan was in bed (shh, don't tell!); I made pie and muffins. The last handful of berries got tossed into a salad along with the arugula, some toasted walnuts, and crumbled feta cheese. Note: I supplemented the CSA berries with some local berries from the grocery store.
- 2 large heads looseleaf lettuce (one green leaf and one redl eaf )- salad, salad, salad. A big taco salad plus several side salads. We still have some of the red leaf left.
- 1/8 lb. arugula - Went into the aforementioned salad with strawberries, feta, and toasted walnuts.
- 16 stems of flowers (Sweet William)
- Assorted pick-your-own herbs- (did not get these)
