Waiting, waiting, waiting...

First the Honey Brook farm website said to check back after May 10 for info about opening day. Then it said to check back on May 15. I checked today... nothing. Waaaaah! This is about the time I become a farm-stalker, checking their site a few times a day for news, any news, of the strawberries and when I might lay hands on the first juicy gems of the season. There are pies to be made, muffins to be baked, bowls ready to be filled with berries and topped with billows of whipped cream.

Does anyone remember the series of TV ads where a woman was impatient for a Mervyn's department store to open on the day of a big sale? She stood outside the doors, palms pressed against the glass, peering anxiously inside, willing the store to "O-pen o-pen o-pen." That's how I feel right now. Open open open!
