Here we are, week 15 already! We probably have another 2 months of produce to go- should see some fall lettuce and broccoli crops along with winter squash and pumpkins as we head into autumn.
This week's photo is complete with chubby hand sneaking in to the shot for a ripe raspberry!
Here's what we brought home:
- 1/2 lb. chard
- 1 quart green beans
- 1 1/2 lbs slicing tomatoes
- 1 lb. heirloom tomatoes
- 1/4 lb. sungold tomatoes
- 1 quart sauce tomatoes (still have some ripening to do)
- 1 bunch basil
- 1 head lettuce
- 2 bell peppers
- 2 anaheim peppers
- 15 hot peppers of undetermined species (hidden by Ryan's arm in the photo)
- 2 eggplant
- 1 bunch kale
- 1 head garlic
- 1/2 pint raspberries
There were several other u-pick crops today- okra, flowers, sunflowers, herbs and specialty basil. We skipped flowers because we wanted to avoid getting caught in the fields by Tropical Storm Hanna, and we have yet to pick any okra this year. I did pick a few sprigs of Thai basil today, and now I am craving a really good green curry. Mmmmm.
